Iām Fiona Pollack, a fellow and member of the adjunct staff at the RAND Corporation. Most recently, I served as a Special Assistant to the National Security Council and the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy, where my portfolio primarily covered emerging risks from synthetic biology. Before joining the Executive Office of the President, I worked on AI and biosecurity issues in the Pentagon at the Nuclear and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Policy Office, where I developed guidance informing tens of millions of dollars in defense spending. I received my A.B. in Applied Mathematics with honors from Harvard University in May 2025.
My current interests include AI infrastructure security research and national security strategy broadly construed.
